The “Diversity and Inclusion in Care” course is designed to equip all care and support staff—including Support Workers, Nurses, Coordinators, and Admin personnel—with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to provide inclusive, culturally safe, and person-centred care. Aligned with the NDIS Practice Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, and the Disability Discrimination Act, the course explores the meaning and value of diversity, recognising and respecting cultural, personal, and identity-based differences. Participants will learn how to adapt communication to meet individual needs, understand the intersectionality of disability and identity, and implement practical strategies that support dignity, equity, and belonging in daily care practices. Through engaging videos, real-life examples, reflective activities, and interactive quizzes delivered via the Bamboo LMS, learners will develop confidence in identifying and addressing bias and discrimination while fostering an inclusive, respectful, and empowering care environment. Upon completion, learners will be able to demonstrate inclusive care that acknowledges the unique background and needs of every participant.
